An internship in Finance/Accounting may include roles in:
Financial Reporting/Advisory & Assurance
Professional Interns in these areas may be responsible for assisting with month end close process including variance analysis and executive reporting, ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and conducting internal control reviews to identify control risks and implement changes and enhancements throughout the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels.
Business Operations
The Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Business Operations department is responsible for managing all business affairs relating to Currency Operations, Credit Card Operations, Receivable Operations, Sales Audit and Ticket Fulfillment within the global Parks and Resorts Finance organization.
Financial Systems
The Financial Systems department is a global organization with the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts segment focused on enabling accurate Financial Statements and efficient Financial Transaction processing through project management, continuous improvement, data integrity and system functionality.
Operations Finance
Operations Finance teams are responsible for many areas of Oeprations including but not limited to Theme Parks and Resorts, Line of Business, HR and IT Finance.
Pricing
This team is responsible for providing financial analysis and pricing strategy for various teams within the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Pricing department including Tickets, Resorts, Food & Beverage, and Merchandise.
Revenue Management
Revenue Management and Analytics (RM&A) is at the forefront of optimizing the demand to grow long-term profitability across various businesses including Resort, Food & Beverage, Theme Park Tickets, and Merchandise for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
- Prepare the Financial and Capital Annual Operating Plan for the Domestic Business Units and Segment
- Prepare the Financial and Capital Five Year Plan for the Domestic Business Units and Segment
- Provide financial support to the operating areas of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
- Provide Corporate Segment-related financial information to prepare the 10Q, 10K and quarterly earnings releases
- Ensure business controls are operating and working effectively
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley law
- Capture, count and report on cash and other forms of payment-received daily from guests
